Skincare has been around for ages and we are becoming more and more aware of just how important taking care of our skin actually is! So taking a look back at just how far we have come is extremely interesting to see!

In the 1920s, Coco Chanel returned from vacay with a bronze glow, inciting a tanning-oil trend. In the 1930s, elaborate 10-step beauty rituals were the time-consuming norm. In the 1940s, beauty brands marketed rich velvety creams as the fountain of facial youth!

In the 1950s a thorough cleansing, usually with a cold cream like Pond’s became a must. In the 1960s, SPF hit the shelves, but formulas only shielded against sunburn-causing UVB rays. In the 1970s, models and makeup artists used Preparation H to depuff the undereye area. In the 1980s, acne fighting formulas tingled as they worked!

In the 1990s, the chemical era came about and chemicals were used to exfoliate the skin and removing dead skin cells. And the rest is history! To learn more be sure to check out the video above!
