The 75th Golden Globes Award ceremony is coming up in just a few days (January 7th), and in honor of this prestigious event, we wanted to give a shoutout to all the women out there who have made history during past Golden Globes ceremonies, or who were just simply iconic. It’s all about the girl power today!

Meryl Streep is the queen of the Golden Globes. She holds the record for an actress with 7 wins and 29 nominations.

Barbara Streisand won the first and only award for Best Director as a woman in 1984 for her film “Yentl.” She also took home Best Actress that night as well.

Whoopi Goldberg became the only black actress to win Best Actress in a Drama, in 1986, for her role in “The Color Purple.”

Angela Bassett became the only black actress to receive the award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical, in 1994, for her role in “What’s Love Got To Do With It.”
