Coachella Music and Arts Fest marked the start of the outdoor summer music fest season. There is no better place to look for summer fashion inspiration than Coachella, as it has been the birth place of many popular trends over the last few years. This year we’ve reviewed the trendy outfits donned by some of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities and music stars as well as everyday fashionistas. While the distressed boho flower child style from last year is still in, we noticed a few extremely popular stand out trends that are both highly wearable and very chic.
White Eyelet Sundresses
Eyelet has become the fabric of the year, we saw it showcased at many of 2013’s S/S fashion shows and there was a sea of delicate boho inspired white eyelet sundress at Coachella. One of the most popular ways to accessories this summertime staple was to add in a braided belt, to cinch the waist and enhance the figure. While dresses were the most popular way to wear eyelet, we also saw plenty of white eyelet shorts, pants and skirts.
Crop Tops and Shorts
The crop top and shorts combo was extremely popular last summer and by the looks of it, it’s still very much on trend. To rock this trend this year we suggest going with high waist shorts, preferable in a light wash denim. Pair your short with a distressed vintage t-shirt and leather booties for a effortlessly chic, grunge glam look.
Distressed Leather Booties
Distressed leather booties were in abundance at Coachella, and we can see why. Not only are they super comfy to wear but they really enhance the boho chic vibe by adding an almost western sensibility to the look. We have two favorite types of distressed leather booties. The first being flat leather booties which have a chic pirate-esque quality and look great with shorts. The second type of distressed leather booties we love are a cowboy boot style with a pointed toe and small heel, these booties complement sundresses and flouncy skirts perfectly .
