When it comes to prom night, what goes in your purse is almost as important as which purse you choose. On a night as important as prom night you’re going to need a few key essentials with you, to make sure you look your best for the entire evening.  These essentials go beyond the typical lip stick and breath mints, these essentials will help keep your makeup and hair in place and even be there standing guard should any wardrobe malfunctions present themselves.  Below you’ll find the items you’ll need for a perfectly packed prom purse, keep in mind everything on this list should be the mini or travel size version if possible, so they’ll fit into a small clutch.

Blotting Papers
While a shiny face is hard to avoid when sweating on the dance floor, in photos its not the best look. So keep some blotting papers in your purse to soaking the excess sweat and oils, so your skin has a fresh faced matte finish all evening.

Mini Makeup Essentials
We suggest bringing along a little bit of your lipstick, eyeliner and a compact with powder foundation and a mirror for those quick pre-photo touch up’s.

Phone
The phone is a must obviously, plus it’s good to have around for a quick photo op with friends, just try to keep it in the zipper compartment of your purse if there is one.You don’t want a sudden arm motion dislodging your phone from your clutch.

Bobby Pins, Hair Spray and Hairties
While you may have hair-sprayed your hairdo from here to Mars it still may come undone during the evenings festivities, so keep a mini hairspray, bobby pins and a hairtie in your bag just in case you need to do a quick hairstyle redo.

Deodorant
Many women opt to bring body spray vs. deodorant to prom, however once you start sweating body spray won’t help you keep your sweat at bay. That’s why you’ll be glad you brought a mini deodorant with you.

Band-Aids
Pop a few in your clutch before you head to prom just in case those killer heels you’re wearing start to actually kill your feet.

Stain Remover Pen
This is an important addition to any prom purse but especially for the girl who is wearing a white or light colored dress, between makeup smudges and drink spills you’ll be glad you have a little stain fighter in your purse.

Double Sided Tape
If you’re wearing a daringly low cut dress or you just need a little help getting a particular strap to stay in place, double sided tape is the secret to preventing many a wardrobe malfunction and you’ll be happy you brought some along.

Breath Mint Strips
You want to stay fresh and smelling nice all evening and that holds true for your breath also, so pop some breath strips into your bag before you go. We recommend breath strips because they tend to be in smaller packaging then gum and mints, giving you a bit more room to fit your other essentials into your clutch.
