Purple is a rich and royal color that seems to be gaining in popularity as the year goes on, its flattering on most complexions and works well for both office wear and casual wear. We have seen purple clothing done in both large and small quantities and we have to say we really love both style options. Purple gives off a sense of passion and luxury that women love, which is why celebrities from Blake Lively to Jennifer Lopez, have all rocked purple hues recently.  Celebrities aren’t the only ones having a love affair with purple, designers like Alberta Ferretti, Chanel, Dior and Erdem have all shown extremely saturated purple hues in there 2012 runway collections.

If you want to wear a little purple without going for the head to toe Barney effect we recommend using purple accent accessories or appliqués in your look. For example you could pair a cream colored shift dress with purple shoes and a purple bag. The cream and purple color combo is posh and chic, and while the purple may not be the center of attention in this outfit, it certainly gives it a much needed dose of color and youthfulness.  If you’re not afraid of purple in large quantities then we recommend some purple outwear wear for fall or winter time. Pairing a purple trench coat or cape with a sexy black on black outfit is a great way to wear purple in a bold and mature fashion.
