Bathing suit season is here again ladies, and whether you prefer to rock itty bitty bikinis or  modest one pieces, this season’s swimwear trends have got you covered. From flirty frills and ruffles to modern digital print suits, summer 2013 has brought us some unique and very chic trends to try when basking in the sun or partying by the pool. Some of last summer’s favorite trends, like the retro high waist bikini and twisted bandeau top, are still perfectly chic to rocking this season, but why not add a suit into your summer rotation that makes use of one of our top three favorite swimwear trends.

Ruffles and Draping
Ruffle, frills, ruching and draping all make for fabulous additions to bathing suits this year. British swimsuit  fashionista Myleene Klass proved this point with her summer swimwear collection which featured a slew of tiny bikinis adorned with figure enhancing ruffles and fringe. One of the reasons that we are head-over-heels about fringe and frills is because they can add balance to your body and help to enhance the look off the bust or the bottom (but not at the same time please).  For ladies who are a bit figure conscious we suggest going for a one shoulder one piece with a ruched waist. Not only will your suit be perfectly on trend, but your waistline will appear smaller thanks to the slimming effected of the ruching.

Cut-Out One Piece
Chic celebrity beach bunnies like Kourtney Kardashian and Rihanna are big fans of the sexy cut-one one piece trend. Of course we have to admit that this type of suit can leave some pretty crazy tan lines, but the look is so chic that we really don’t mind. However if you’re not a fan of a mismatched tan think about reserving your cut-out one piece for those evening beach parties or for an especially chic pool gathering.  When choosing to wear a cut-out bathing suit keep your hair and any accessories you may wear understated, a chic messy up-do and a pair of simple stud earrings will have you looking effortlessly chic.

Digital Print
Digital prints made a huge splash on both the F/W and S/S  runways this year and we are loving how this look translates to swimwear. We Are Handsome, Suboo and Karla Spetic all showed stunning and vivid digital print suits on the runway this season, ranging from tiger adorned one pieces to bright Technicolor floral bikinis. For the ladies who take a more modest approach to swimwear you’ll be happy to know that this trend is best worn as a one pieces, so you get the full effect of the fun digital print.
