The most successful high-street brand ever and its secrets

Zara is a phenomenon. The Spanish brand is the only fast-fashion house making remarkable profits. So, what’s the secret behind the success and how to get the hottest pieces on sale? Here’s what you need to know.

Zara is part of Inditex Group, which includes Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti, and Bershka, to name a few. The brand itself doesn’t have one designer like others.

Instead, there are hundreds of people involved in preparing the collection. These people are working on approximately 24 thousand pieces of clothing and accessories every year. The designers follow the most prominent fashion shows, like Chanel, Balenciaga, and then gather around to decide which pieces are wearable.

The most desirable pieces are made in Spain, Morocco, and Portugal. We are talking about those pieces which look like they came from Paris Fashion Week. The rest is made in Asia. Naturally, the quality and the prices are always more significant when the label says “made in Spain.” But what about eco-fashion and sustainability?

Never underestimate the machinery behind this beloved brand. They recently released a collection of jackets made from recycled water bottles. Zara’s carbon footprint has to be massive, but they are listening, and there are plans to create more exclusive collections. Fewer pieces, more eco-friendly. But we will talk about it sometime in the future.

Of course, you want to know everything about Zara’s sale. If you don’t want to miss it, subscribe to the newsletter. The purchases always start on Thursday, this year on December 26. Coats, jackets, and sweaters will be marked down more than the other items.

The second markdown begins a week later, and it’s a great time to get a pair of new jeans and spring basics. The sale continues through January, but the store will already start getting the new collection for spring 2020.

The most significant sign that a sale is coming is when the clothing gets all turned horizontally and packed onto the racks. Bookmark all the items you want to try out and hit the stores.

You can shop online as well, but Zara’s sizes are questionable. On the must-have list are a tuxedo, pleated skirts, cotton shirts, and straight leg jeans. Why? Because you will need these items for spring as well!
