Whether you’re going on a weeklong vacation or a weekend getaway, there are just some beauty products that you can’t leave behind. You already have the basics ready to go like your skincare routine and your favorite bronzer but have you really thought through what else you’ll need? Grab a pen and make sure you have these beauty essentials checked off before you say au revoir.
SPF. There’s nothing worse than going on vacation and returning with red skin that hurts just to even look at. An SPF of at least 30 is essential if you’re going to a sunny place and will be outdoors for the most part.
Travel size hair care. While the hotel you’ll be staying at will most likely provide shampoo, there’s no promise it will be any good or even enough for your stay. It’s better to be safe than sorry so purchase a travel size of your favorite shampoo and conditioner to keep your locks looking healthy.
BB or CC cream. Being on vacation is about feeling relaxed and free and your skin should get a break as well. Don’t wear heavy foundation and allow your skin to breathe while still getting a bit of coverage and skincare benefits with a light BB or CC cream. For an extra travel friendly option, try a CC cushion that you can take with you and touch up on the go.
Face mist. Most people don’t think of bringing a face mist along (or even having one on hand in general) but it should be part of your daily skincare routine, especially if you’re on the go. There are factors like heat or AC that suck the moisture out of your skin and it can’t wait until you reapply your moisturizer at night. Bring a face mist wherever you go to up the moisture levels on your skin whenever it feels tight.
Makeup remover. Just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean you can slack off with your skincare routine. Remove all makeup before going to bed to avoid getting clogged pores and spots.
Multi-tasking cream. If your brought with you all of the creams that you need for every part of your body, you’d have a lot less space in your luggage for other important items. Having a great multi-tasking cream on hand is essential as you can apply to your hands, under your eyes, and even on your lips if they feel chapped.
Face mask. Give your face and neck a treat while on vacation with a good moisturizing face mask. Your skin deserves to be on vacation as well after having to wear makeup almost daily so pamper it with your favorite mask.
Essential oil. Sometimes when we travel, we can’t sleep. Whether it’s the excitement or sleeping on a foreign bed, your mind is racing and needs to be soothed. Taking an essential calming oil, like lavender, will relax your senses and mind taking you to la la land in no-time.
