If there was ever a time when you thought to yourself “I really want to try a DIY that’s worth the time and effort” but don’t know which one to try, this one is definitely it: DIY mascara. We know that everyone isn’t as crafty or has the time to pull something like this off but this DIY is defintely worth it. You spend so much money on a single tube of mascara (we’re talking about you, Dior) so why not spend as much and get several mascaras that are, on top of that, natural?

To make your own DIY all-natural mascara, you’re going to the following:

beeswax½ of melted beeswax
1 tsp. of aloe vera gel
2 tsp. of coconut oil
2 capsules activated charcoal
Recycled or new mascara wand and tube

Now follow these steps:

Step 1. Measure out all of the ingredients to have them on stand-by. You want to work really quick due to the beeswax and coconut oil solidifying.

Step 2: In a small bowl, combine the melted beeswax and coconut oil as well as the aloe vera. You can melt the beeswax and coconut oil by adding each ingredient individually in a metal measuring cup and placing it directly above a lit candle. This will take about 1 minute each time you do it.

Step 3: Open the charcoal capsules and pour them into the mixture. Mix well.

Step 4: Pour the mixture into the empty mascara tube. If you’re mixture has hardened, simply put the mixture in the metal measuring cup above the candle flame until it turns into liquid.

Step 5: Wait a few minutes for the mascara to cool and then try it out!
