Getting that perfect power ponytail or that chic slicked back hair is no match for you, you’ve already mastered it. But what happens when you realize that your hairline may be too far back? You love the hairstyle you created but bronzer can only fix so much and undoing your hair masterpiece isn’t an option.

The solution? Look no further than your taupe eye shadow palette. You’re already familiar with using eye shadow on your eyebrows so using it on your hairline isn’t too far off of an idea. Keep reading for a mini tutorial on how to fill your hairline in with eye shadow.

Step 1: Choose an eye shadow that closely matches your own hair color and is matte. You can usually find these shades in taupe eye shadow palettes. If your hair is colored in a warm color or is natural red, you can skin the taupes.

Step 2: Identify the areas that you want filled in. Sometimes the whole hairline doesn’t need to be filled in, like for an M shape hairline, so you don’t need to go all the way around.

Step 3. Take a fluffy blending brush and pick up a light dusting of the eye shadow. It’s best to work in thin layers rather than apply too much and having to wipe it off. Fill the areas and blend, blend, blend! It needs to look as seamless as possible so no harsh edges should be visible.

Step 4: If you’re afraid it might move due to sweat or any other factors, you can apply a bit of primer on the area beforehand as well as dust some translucent powder.
