As the fashion world processes the recent death of the creative director for Fendi and Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Milan Fashion Week pays tribute to his legacy.

The Autumn/Winter 2019 Fendi show celebrated the legendary designer, featuring the final line designed by Lagerfeld. At the entrance of the catwalk, a projection screen featured “Love Karl” written by the last designer.

Another homage to Lagerfeld was through the show’s programs that featured a Fendi hand-drawn sketch that was Lagerfeld’s signature design style and a card with the Fendi logo including the date of his passing on the back. They also featured a video of Lagerfeld sketching one of his first designs under the Fendi label, joining the fashion house in 1965.

Lagerfeld never forgot a single one of his designs, recounting his first sketch from over 40 years ago. The video played after the show to end the last runway show for Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld.

The runway show featured designs with Fendi’s signature double F logo that Lagerfeld created for the brand. The collection featured a range of neutral colors with a pop of Autumn primary colors.

Fendi also brought back their iconic baguette bag with new colors and chain strap options. The collection is sure to fetch high prices considering it is the last piece of Lagerfeld’s Fendi legacy.
