There are certain leather items that look great when distressed, like moto boots. They give an instant edge when they look rough around the edges and give you instant cool points. Then, on the other hand, there are other shoes like your patent leather heels that need that shine to look good. Unfortunately as time passes, they don’t always look that way and you’re off to get a new pair.

To give your leather shoes a pick me up, try this DIY and watch your shoes look like new instantly.

What you’ll need:

-Petroleum jelly
-2 wash cloths (one dry, the other wet)

What you need to do:

Step 1. Take your wet wash cloth and clean off any dirt or residues. Wait for them to dry completely before going on to the next step.

Step 2. Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly all over the leather parts of the shoes.

Step 3. Buff off the jelly with the dry cloth.

Making your leather shoes look like new has never been so easy. If you don’t have any petroleum jelly, you can also use a cheap hair conditioner as it contains wax and will make them shine.
