Every girl loves getting a pretty manicure especially when it’s glittery and fun. The problem with glitter (or any confetti style polish) is that it takes forever to come off and it can get frustrating. Trying to rub the polish off doesn’t work as the only thing you end up rubbing off is the color.

Since we love glitter too much to stop using it just because of tedious removal, here’s a DIY hack that will make the process easier.

First thing’s first: start off with a base coat. The glitters can adhere to your nail pretty strongly and if you’ve tried to remove it in the traditional way in the past, you’ve most likely hurt your nail and cuticles. By using a base coat you’re protecting your nails and avoiding any type of staining as well.

Step 1: Take your favorite nail polish remover and put some on a cotton pad. It shouldn’t be drenched but enough to remove all of the polish on one finger.

Step 2: Place the cotton pad on your finger. Then, take a small square of tin foil and wrap it around the finger. Repeat step 1 and 2 on the rest of your nails.

Step 3: Wait 3~5 minutes and remove the pads and foil from your fingers. If there’s any residue it should easily come off with an additional cotton pad and polish remover.

And there you have it! You don’t need to feel like you’re doing physical labor to remove your glittery nail polish. Check out the videos for more on nails and nail art.
