One of this season’s hottest trends is definitely jumpsuits. They were all over the Fall 2014 runways and quickly made their way on to every fashionable city’s streets. They’re a great piece to have as it’s appropriate for any time of the day and with the cooler fall night here, they can also keep you pretty warm.

If you want to know how to wear a jumpsuit best this fall and keep up with the trend, remember these simple rules.

Wear fall appropriate colors. There are very few colors that can transition well from the summer to the autumn so go for colors like deep reds, black, dark green, etc. An even better option is to go for a taupe color as it can work well with many different colors and can look good whether it’s styled casually or more sophisticated.

Make sure you can layer it. Layering is important during the cooler months to keep warm if for whatever reason you have to be out and about constantly or want to wear it at night. Find a jumpsuit looks great whether you layer over or under it doesn’t look too bulky while doing so. The best thing to do is to find a jumpsuit whose material is on the thinner side and doesn’t cling too much to your body.

Work well with your proportions. This rule doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the fall but it’s important to keep in mind. You have to find a jumpsuit that works best for your body type as jumpsuits aren’t necessarily meant to flatter a woman’s figure. If you have great legs but aren’t as gifted in the top, you should find one that has a loose top part and skinnier on the bottom so remember to work backwards in this case.
