Macy’s is launching their first clothing line catered towards Muslim women, and will be the first American department store to sell hijabs. The Verona Collection will be a clothing line with a variety of headscarves for Muslim women. Complete with pants, dresses, tops, cardigans as well as hijabs, all ranging in price from $12.95-$84.95. The brand will only be available on macys.com.

We live in a time where people are finally coming together to see that equality is truly fair and necessary for all beings, no matter race, gender or religion. It’s surprising that a department store took this long to create a line of clothing this specific. The launch of this revolutionary department store brand stems from The Workshop at Macy’s, a program that fosters minority- and women-owned businesses.

Founder of the line, Lisa Vogl, says she started the brand out of frustration due to the lack of fashionable options for people who prefer more demure clothing and that this is more than just a clothing brand. It’s a platform for a community of women to express their personal identity and embrace fashion that makes them feel confident on the inside and outside.

“Verona Collection is more than a clothing brand. It’s a platform for a community of women to express their personal identity and embrace fashion that makes them feel confident on the inside and outside,” Vogl said recently in a press release.
