Meghan Markle is breaking ground in the Royal fashion world. First she received backlash for wearing an off the shoulder dress, then her not-so-appropriate messy bun, and now she is giving the public something else to talk about. Markle broke yet another rule when it came to nail polish. She left her new husband at home and made an appearance in Chester to meet with Queen Elizabeth.

She wore a stunning white Givenchy dress with a slightly off-white nail polish. So what is the big deal?

Royals are expected to follow a neutral nail polish rule at all times. Queen Elizabeth always wears an extremely light pink like Essie’s ballet slippers. She believes colors such as hot pink and red are “vulgar” nail colors and any Royal lady should stay away.

While the Duchess didn’t wear a “vulgar” color, it was definitely a notable choice. Meghan Markle is putting new twists on royal tradition left and right. What will her next statement be?
