Another dirty look a company came out with was a pair of golden goose sneakers. They are known to silver sneakers with dirty laces and distressed looks. They retail for about $495-$585 and the company has been accused of “Poverty Appropriation.”
Margiela as well as Neiman Marcus has been added to this new trend. Margiela released a destroyed tennis shoe for $1425! They distress there high tops on purpose to give it a destroyed look. Whether you consider this to be poverty appropriation or not, these brands are obviously heavily influenced by streetwear though maybe they are taking it to far .
