Oprah Makes Bride’s Dream Come True
Oprah Winfrey is arguably one of the most influential people of the 21st century. She is a philanthropist, TV network executive, and host of one of the highest rated talk shows of all time. Of all of her awards and accolades, her ability to change lives and inspire tops them all.
As the founder of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa, she strives to inspire young girls from around the world to overcome adversity and hardship to better themselves and in turn, their communities. Since 2007, the academy has transformed girls in South Africa and has provided them opportunities, previously unavailable.
Her personal stake in the future of these girls doesn’t stop with their education. Oprah maintains personal relationships with the students and is reported to regularly host the girls over for dinner and other events while maintaining a positive influence in their lives.
Most recently, Oprah purchased a $10k dress for one of her graduates, stating that she had known the girl since she was 13 years old and has been with her through college and graduate school.
