The Spring 2014 runways were full of pretty pastels everywhere making the girly girl inside of us jump with joy. Designers like Alexander Wang and Burberry showed us a few baby blue and pastel pink pieces that could be tailored to any style whether it’s feminine and preppy or more on the androgynous side. Pastel monochrome looks were another trend we saw making the transition to Spring from it’s black and white monochrome counterparts last season. Wearing this trend is a lot easier than it seems if you’re worried about being too matchy or too loud. Check out our tips on how to wear the lovely pastel trend this season.

Monochrome pastel. This look is a bit more complicated to master than a monochrome black look as lighter colors stand out more. Stick with a top and bottom garment that match in color bit differ in textures. This will make the outfit look more complex.

Stick to one pastel item. Whether it’s a shirt or some jeans, starting out with one item is best rather than matching it improperly in a monochrome look. Try out an ice blue jacket and pair it up with nude bottoms and heels for a spring-like look.

Pastel lips. The easiest way to try this trend out is on your lips. Lilacs and pastel pink are the perfect colors for spring lips so look for a matte shade of either that suits your skin tone best. Keep your skin dewy as the pastel can drain you from color and the eyes simple as the lips are the focal point.
