Time to give your wardrobe a chirpy makeover this summer, ladies! The bird print trend is back. We saw this trend show up last year in the Spring/Summer ’12 runways from designers like Marc Jacobs and Carolina Herrera but it seems like this year the trend is much stronger. The lovely birdy print mostly appears in dresses and tops; the fabric is very light and for the tops it’s sheer. There were many designers that used the print in their Spring/Summer ’13 runways and they include: Prabal Gurung, Kenzo, and Nanette Lepore just to name a few.
Many celebrities and bloggers have been showing their love of nature this season because chirpy tops and dresses are showing up everywhere. Celebrity designer Victoria Beckham has been seen wearing a few different bird print pieces as well as Pixie Geldof and Hilary Duff. This print is so lovely and it complements the spring and summer seasons so well that it’s difficult not to wear this trend. Keep reading for more on how to wear it.
Try the Trend
This trend can be treated the same as you would the floral trend; day or evening is fine. For a daytime look, try wearing a loose, sheer buttoned down bird print shirt with some shorts and the trendy oxford shoes. Your hair doesn’t have to be perfect so a messy ponytail will do. For makeup, keep it light during these summer months and just cover imperfections with some light concealing and sport a moisturized pink pout .
For an evening look, a loose bird print dress will look great. Pair it up with some pumps or ankle strap heels for a sexier look. If you want to skip out on heels that flats will look just as good. For hair some fun beach waves will be perfect because of the season (and humidity) and makeup can be whatever you’re comfortable with whether it’s a deep red lip or a simple pink pout.
