Thought your boyfriend’s jeans were the only thing you were borrowing from your man’s closet? Think again ladies. If he’s got a tuxedo from his sister’s wedding, you’re also going to borrow that too. The Spring/Summer 2013 runways from Céline Paris, Dior, and Ralph Lauren, to name a few, had many of the models rocking black tuxedos as if going to a black tie event. Because white is also a big color this season, the tuxedos also came in white and beige as well.

This trend is very wearable since the “boyish” look has been popular for quite some time now and tuxedos are a perfect fit for this look. The celebrities wearing this trend are plentiful but some of our favorites include: Emma Stone, Katie Holmes, and the beautiful Beyoncé  Knowles. This trend is perfect for us ladies that like wearing boys’ clothing so keep reading for more on how to wear it.

Try the Trend
Tuxedos are usually reserved for special or evening events and we totally agree with this. Save this formal attire for a social gathering in the evening when it may be your best friend’s birthday or for a lounge on a Saturday night. Don’t skimp out on accessories because it’s monochromatic and it might look a bit boring. Try adding the classic gold accessories like a necklace and some thin gold bangles. For shoes, the ankle strap heel will compliment it perfectly because it’s very sexy and feminine and you don’t want to get lost in a completely boyish look. A red lip and sleek hair will do the trick.

If this is something you would like to try during the day, you can choose to wear a black blazer and some black trousers. It’ll still give you a tuxedo-y effect without looking too done up. You can choose to wear everything that was mentioned for the night time look or  switch up the ankle straps heels for some loafers and the red lip for a nude or a pink pout.
