Taraji P. Henson walks the red carpet at the 2019 Golden Globes looking absolutely magnificent in a forest green velvet dress with a plunging neckline and a diamond-encrusted choker necklace.
While on the red carpet, she also talked with host Ryan Seacrest about her recent trip to South Africa, which she shared to her fans via her Instagram account. Henson revealed that her trip was in support of Alicia Keys’ Keep A Child Alive Foundation and that it was already her second trip overseas for the said cause. “Most [of the kids in Soweto] are orphaned because both parents died of [AIDS], some are rape victims,” her caption says. “My heart was broken, their spirits are not.”
In 2015, Henson won the 73rd Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama for her role as tough cookie and wife to hip-hop mogul Cookie Lyon in the Fox musical drama series Empire. She was also nominated for two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Henson was also named as one of the 100 Most Influential People In The World by TIME Magazine in 2016. She received recognition for her role as Katherine Johnson in the hit biographical drama film, Hidden Figures and even won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
