Supermodel celebrated with new Barbie doll

Claudia Schiffer is one of the original supermodels of the world and she is celebrating her 50th birthday with her own identical Barbie doll. The creator of Barbie, Mattel, teamed up with Schiffer to celebrate the supermodel and some of her favorite luxury brand designers.

The new Barbie collaboration also worked in partnership with two of Schiffer’s favorite creative directors including Donatella Versace of Versace and Olivier Rousteing of Balmain. Schiffer personally owns both of the styles featured on the new doll and the life-size styles will be launching soon.

The collaboration was announced on August 25th to celebrate Schiffer’s birthday but the styles were recently revealed. Both outfits are inspired by some of Schiffer’s iconic runway moments.

Donatella decided to recreate a flowing blue gown worn by Schiffer during the fall/winter 1994 runway show. The Balmain outfit was inspired by a top and skirt combo Schiffer wore for a spring/summer 2016 collection campaign.

Schiffer is happy to be emulated by the iconic toy company and is proud to be a role model for young women around the world including her own daughters. She says that her daughters have a playroom dedicated to everything Barbie and she keeps her doll in the Barbie playroom.
