Now that big, bold eyebrows are trending, it’s impossible to go to any type of beauty store or drug store and not see tinted brow mascaras everywhere. Just like your eyelashes, your eyebrows need a little extra help sometimes if you want to keep them in place. And if you weren’t born with luscious brows, these mascaras help to your brows look bolder and even fill them in. It’s safe to say that we’re obsessed with beauty savors.

elfThe only downside we’ve been able to find with these mascaras is the price. They’re so tiny yet some of them can cost more than eyelash mascara making us cringe a little bit inside every time we pay. The solution? Just DIY it. Here’s what you’ll need:

Clear gel mascara (We love E.L.F.-it’s only $1)
Taupe matte eyeshadow that matches your eyebrows or slightly lighter

Now follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Take your taupe matte shadow and scrape about ½ tsp. into a small bowl. It can get a little messy if you try to put it directly in the mascara tube. Feel free to use your own eyebrow powder as well.

Step 2: Rip a small piece of paper (the size of a post-it) and make a small funnel. Place it in the mascara tube and funnel in the powder you scraped earlier.

Step 3: Put the mascara wand in and incorporate everything well.

And there you have it! A DIY version of the latest beauty trend without having to spend a lot of money. This mascara will help provide color while keeping your brows in place.
