Gold metal belts are making a big comeback this season. We saw this trend first pop up on the runways of Gucci back in 2011 and we’re glad they popped up again this year. This particular belt is used more as an accessory or a statement piece because it’s not actually holding your pants in place; it’s accentuating your waist. We’re all for making our waists look small so this trend is something we’re rocking for sure. This year we’ve seen this gold metal belt on a few different runways for a few different seasons which tells us exactly how strong it really is.
Some of the runways that include this belt are the following: Alexander McQueen, Burberry, and Elie Saab, which, interestingly enough, included the belts in her Pre Fall 2013 runway. Most of the models wore this belt with evening wear like long dresses, over chic jumpsuits, and even over blazers so this belt will probably look best at night time events. Some of the celebrities wearing this gold metal belt include: Kim Kardashian, Gweneth Paltrow, and Cameron Diaz who wore it over a beautiful, long royal blue dress at the Met Ball this year. This very chic belt will be here for the months to come so keep reading for more on how to wear it best.
Try the Trend
This belt is so chic and makes your whole look more sophisticated so we recommend saving it for evening wear and special events. We think wearing this with a jumpsuit will look fabulous since your waist tends to get lost because of the natural silhouette that a jumpsuit has. It would also look great with a little white dress if you choose to go with gold accents and accessories because it will liven up the rather dull color that white is on its own. For shoes there’s an array of options but the ankle strap heel won’t fail you this season. Hair and makeup should be classic like a deep red lip and a perfect high bun because of the nature of when the belt should be worn.
You can rock this belt during the day but it definitely depends on where you’re going. We wouldn’t necessarily wear this to the grocery store or to school but if you have a charity to go to during the day you can definitely pull it off if you wear a little white dress along with it. It all depends on your style as well so just make sure to follow our easy tips for wearing it best!
