Gwen Stefani takes home Fashion Icon award

Gwen Stefani was honored at the People’s Choice Awards on Sunday night by being named the fashion icon of the year. Recognizing her career in music and the influence she has had on fashion for decades, the award was nothing but fitting.

From her days with her band No Doubt, to her time as a solo act, and her role now as a judge on The Voice and, the multi-faceted star has always wowed with her daring outfits and style choices. Whether they were edgy, girly, punk, or polished, she was always been one to remember the morning after any red carpet event.

For the big night as a fashion icon she, of course, had to have the best of the best create and style her gown. Vera Wang’s custom white strapless gown was nothing short of spectacular. With a cocktail-attire front and dramatic train the in the back, a larger-than-life black bow above the train, and beautifully-tufted ruching in the front the dress stole the spotlight.

To bring in her signature punk style, Wang embroidered the train of the dress with gothic-font text that read “fashion icon” to commemorate the award. Gwen finished off the look with ¾ length black gloves, fishnet stockings, and black over-the-knee boots. Husband Blake Shelton walked the red carpet with her in dark jeans, brown boots, a black blazer and vest, and white shirt.
