When it comes to certain types of waves, you just need some help from curling wands because your hair’s as straight as board. We know you probably you’re your straight hair but wavy hair looks better sometimes. And while putting your hair in a French braid the night before works, it won’t give you perfect polished or tousled waves like a hot tool would.

Conair-styling-wandIf you’re in the mood for some wave action in your hair, here are 2 easy ways to get them:

Perfectly Polished. Use the widest wand or biggest barrel curling iron you have and go to town on your hair by curling 2 inch section at a time. Hold the curl for about 6 to 8 seconds and let go. Once you’re done curling, brush the waves out slightly, apply some hair oil on the ends, and spray some hairspray to keep them in place.

Tousled Tresses. You don’t have to go to the beach to get beach waves it’s really easy to do. Use a medium or 1 inch curling iron and curl small and big pieces of hair all over so it doesn’t look uniform. Don’t hold the curl for too long because it’ll end up looking too perfect so 5 seconds is good enough. When you’re done, spray in some sea salt spray all over and scrunch up the hair with your hands.
