Usually when you think of hot rollers, the first thing that comes to mind is a granny with a head full of rollers in her robe and we don’t know anybody that thinks that sight is particularly appealing. While curling irons are amazing and hold a curl really well, they take up so much time because every section needs attention and not to mention the products that need to be applied. It’s also tiring which in turn leads to probably not finishing the last few section underneath (admit it).

Hot rollers, on the other hand, are so incredibly easy to use that we’re scratching our heads on why we ever bothered with curling wands in the first place. You apply a heat protectant, wrap the hair, and move on with getting ready. Did we mention they’re gentler on the hair because they don’t tug as much?

In case you’ve forgotten how to use them or haven’t used them at all, follow these easy steps for luscious curls.

You’ll need these styling products:

1. Heat protectant
2. Spray
3. Hair oil (optional)

Now follow these simple steps:

Step 1. Spritz some heat protectant spray on dry hair.

Step 2. Part your hair in 4 big sections: front to back and side to side.

Step 3. Each of the big sections will be divided into 3 smaller ones so before you roll your hair onto the hot roller, spray the hair with some hairspray. This will help with keeping the curl for the longest time possible. Repeat with all sections.

Step 4. Run your fingers through your curled hair to break them up a bit. Be sure to not brush them because it’ll break up the curls harshly.

Step 5. Spray the hair with hairspray. Add some hair oil for shine but don’t go overboard as oil is heavy and can weigh the curls down.

If you don’t have a good set of hot rollers and love the signature Victoria’s Secret model hair, we recommend you get one asap. They cost about the same as a curling wand and brands as affordable as Conair and as expensive as CHI make their own set so be sure to shop around.
