The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, surprised everyone at the British Fashion Awards as a presenter for the British Womenswear Designer of the Year award. Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance at 2018 British Fashion Awards which is yearly organized by the British Fashion Council.

She was in attendance to honor her wedding dress designer, Waight Keller who is the Creative Director at Givenchy. The expectant mom wowed the crowd when she took to the stage at Royal Albert Hall in London cradling her baby bump to announce the British Womenswear Designer of the Year. She stunned in a custom made Givenchy for the award ceremony in an elegant one-shouldered velvet black gown.

She accessorized her outfit with gold bracelets and earrings by designer Pippa Small. This was clearly an outfit that was made for the fashion crowd and such an occasion. The Duchess of Sussex slicked her hair back in a beautiful sleek low bun.

The Duchess of Sussex wore gold heels by Tamara Mellon to complement her black elegant gown. She also wore a dark nail polish to match her dress. The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle gave a little heart-warming speech before announcing the winner of the British Womenswear Designer of the Year Award.

She spoke about supporting and empowering each other, especially as women. In her speech, she also mentioned about women empowerment which of course is through fashion and she also spoke about women not just being a reflection of a designer’s creativity but also as an extension of their value.

She rounded off her speech presenting the award to the winner of the Womenswear Designer of the Year which was Clare Waight Keller, the Creative Director at Givenchy and the designer of Meghan’s stunning wedding dress.

The winner was definitely thrilled and shocked as she joined Meghan on stage to receive her award. She thanked the Duchess for trusting her with her wedding gown on her big day as she felt it was a huge honor.

The award ceremony was an A-list event and also a glamorous one as some celebrities like Rosamund Pike, Uma Thurman, Penelope Cruz, Victoria and David Beckham.
