Ever wonder how that perfect color on your pouty lips was made? Well, it’s surprisingly simple!
As Refinery29 breaks it down in this, “how it’s made” video, lipsticks are made using a secret combination of solvents and pigments (they can’t go giving away all the secrets)!
Thousands of pigments can be used to make lipsticks, and it’s finding that perfect blend that creates the perfect shade. After the ‘secret ingredients’ are added, wax is also added to the mix for a little bit more density.
The lipstick is then cooled and molded using applicators, and is never touched throughout the process. Then, of course, you get to apply to perfect shade to your lips to tie your whole look together.
