Prior to this collection, Jones had never designed couture or made a full women’s collection that critics thought would present a challenge but the collection was a hit of Paris Couture Fashion Week. Kim Jones has a reputation for menswear but this collection will build his name in couture and womenswear fashion.
The collection combined masculine traits of bold tailoring with elegant feminine styles for an androgynous couture collection. This concept is unique for couture that adheres to traditional standards of maintaining menswear and womenswear as two separate identities.
