Dog Fashion Shows Helps Pooches In Need

The runway isn’t just for high fashion celebs these days. At the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, the pets are the star of the show and are stealing the hearts of people everywhere, all for a good cause.

“Barcs” pet shelter in Baltimore, Maryland takes in just over 1,000 pets a month. Every year, this well-known shelter puts on Pawject Runway to raise money for the shelter while bringing awareness to animal violence and cruelty while helping people find their new furry friend.

Since it’s founder, John Rallo, opened his doors 14 years ago, Barcs has transformed from a shelter with a 98% kill rate to that of a 90% save rate. But the animals were not the only ones involved in this fashion show.

Many celebrities rallied with Local Godfather, John Rallo, to promote the cause. Many Ravens players such as Ronnie Staley and Nick Boyle joined forces with John to support Barcs in keeping up the tradition of adopting out every pet at the show. Last year, they even went so far as to pay all of the adoption fees at the event.
