Kristen Stewart gets the front-row experience of a lifetime

Chanel debuted the pre-fall 2021 Métiers d’art collection for a unique show at the historic Château de Chenonceau in France for one single guest, Kristen Stewart. The actress and Chanel brand ambassador got the ultimate front-row experience of having the best seat and only seat at the Métiers d’art runway show.

The runway event was hosted at the Château de Chenonceau that is much like the brand, rich in French history. The creative director of Chanel Virginie Viard explained she chose this location because it was designed and owned by two women who inspired Coco Chanel, Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de’Medici.

Catherine de’Medici was known for her dark sense of style mainly wearing black with the occasional white ruffled collar and Diane de Poitiers is also known for wearing only black and white. Both of these women influenced Coco Chanel’s love of black and white that would become one of the iconic style elements of the French fashion brand.

The styles of this collection were heavily inspired by the women who created Château de Chenonceau with a neutral color collection featuring black, white, grey, and beige. The collection featured styles that were a combination of masculine with feminine including veiled hats, long black coats, leather quilted jackets with pearl embellishments, dresses featuring latticework, white ruffled collars, and giant puffy sleeves.

The Métiers d’art collection featured a combination of traditional and modern styles that can be worn with other pieces from the collection easily. The special and only guest Kristen Stewart embodies the style aesthetic of the designers of Château de Chenonceau for an event truly inspired by the great women who inspired Coco Chanel.
