Fashion icon and longstanding editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, Anna Wintour, addresses Vogue’s response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Wintour considers what we should be grateful for in this unprecedented time and what we can do to prevent spreading COVID-19.

In an editorial article Wintour wishes that readers are practicing wearing face masks while being in public spaces to prevent possible contamination or spreading COVID-19. Wintour expresses the simple things she misses doing in social spaces that is now being restricted with most state practicing social distancing to “flatten the curve.”

She also goes onto express gratitude for the people she is keeping in touch with while working from home and limiting going out. Wintour has also had more time to reach out to people and connect more on a personal level through isolation.

“Isolation is a reminder that we need one another” – Anna Wintour

Wintour is also grateful for all the acts of philanthropy with many fashion brands doing their part to give back to help fight COVID-19. She also gives thanks to the donors for giving back to A Common Thread, the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund that helps American designers during challenging times.

On Vogue’s website, they feature videos of fashion designers and business owners give testimonies on the impact of their business in response to COVID-19 and gives you a chance to donate to A Common Thread. She thanks the tireless efforts of the staff of Vogue magazine, providing content and update on what people can do to flatten the curve and help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Wintour reminds us that we should be considering what we’re grateful for while caring for your friends and family during this time while maintaining social distance.
