This TV series on FX was created by Ryan Murphy, bringing ballroom culture of the 1980s and 1990s LGBTQ+ community to mainstream media. The costume designer for “Pose” Analucia McGorty recreates the exuberant and flamboyant costumes from scratch with all designs inspired by original ballroom footage.

This Netflix original series reveals the secretive world of the Hasidic Jewish community through the perspective of a young wife named Esty. “Unorthodox” costume designer Justine Seymour explored the Jewish identity through costuming that is culturally accurate through a modest wardrobe inspired by the details that respect the sartorial codes in the Satmar Hasidic community.

The HBO limited series turned instant overnight sensation “Euphoria” featured a wardrobe by costume designer, Heidi Bivens. The characters featured on “Euphoria” are very diverse in gender roles that can be seen in the gender-neutral wardrobe. “Euphoria” explores using costumes to explore the alternative side of characters that ultimately foreshadows the future of the characters.
