Leather was a really big trend for 2013 and even more so for the fall and winter months. There was the moto jacket, leather boots, leather skinnies, and even leather dresses so it’s safe to say that it was the year of the leather. Many designers like Alexander Wang, Jeremy Scott, and Rag & Bone, among others, made this fashion classic take the spotlight once again.
Although leather is incredibly chic and cool, it’s not the easiest of trends to wear. Not only is it a bit constricting, it can get very warm (can be a problem if you’re at a party with many people), and accentuate parts of the body that aren’t the most toned. Not to mention how much extra care it needs.
Luckily there are many leather items that can be worn to be part of the trend. We like an “all black everything” ensemble that consists of wearing a black leather jacket, black skinny jeans, and some patent botties. Talk about keeping it simple. If you want to dress it up more, a leather peplum top and some boyfriend jeans with your favorite black heels will do the trick.
