Gap and Yeezy join together for partnership
Kanye West just signed a deal to partner Yeezy with the Gap for a multi-year deal with the goal of helping the ailing brand. The new partnership will bring pricey Yeezy designs to provide an affordable line of clothing for kids and adults.
In April, Yeezy was valued at $2.9 billion and is reported to receive potential equity and royalties on sales targets. In a joint press release Gap expressed their excitement to have a visionary like Kanye West contribute to offering more modern styles.
West is excited to offer a next-level retail experience for Yeezy and the Gap. The new collection is said to feature bright casual wear and Kanye West even worked at a Gap store as a teen living in Chicago.
West also indicated having an interest in being the creative director of the Gap in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2015. The Gap is experiencing a harsh decline in business but hope working with West can help save the American brand.
