Women in the fashion and entertainment industry are speaking out against Heidi Klum’s Next Top Model show, saying it has exclusionary beauty standards. Klum is hosting the German version of America’s Next Top Model, and she has already been rubbing viewers the wrong way with her ideals on beauty. Unlike the American version of the show, it’s not doing so hot ratings wise.
The critique of Klum’s show is that the beauty expectations and standards she has of the contestants are unreasonable and unattainable. Viewers are saying the model needs to do a better job of adhering to reality instead of reality TV when it comes to beauty. The uproar has led viewers to create YouTube videos, photos and even a hashtag, #notheidisgirl. Needless to say, the internet world is not happy with Heidi.
