Kerry Washington is an amazing actress known for her roles in the hit TV show “Scandal.” She also starred in the award-winning film “Ray” and the cult classic “Django,” landing her on the Forbes list as the eighth highest-paid actress in television. Besides all of that, she is a stunning beauty and a fashion icon to boot.
Her first cover with InStyle back in 2015 was her favorite cover and by far her most memorable. Dare we even say Scandal-ous? The controversy over the cover was because the final production cover had her appearance looking lighter than she was in real life.
People were upset over the misunderstanding that you had to be light-skinned to be on the cover. Kerry and InStyle Magazine quickly released a statement explaining the use of lighting and it’s insensitivity quickly diffusing the issue. Her ability to take the controversy head-on is what made it one of her favorite covers.
