Vests aren’t usually the first piece of clothing that comes to mind when trying to style a feminine outfit due to its manly nature. A lot of the time we tend to see vests in a formal settings and we forget that they come in all types of colors and materials making it the perfect layering piece for any season. They look just as great for work as they do for play so don’t rule this piece out altogether just yet.

Over a dress or skirt. Throwing a vest over any dress or skirt that is form-fitting or even formal helps with creating a more relaxed look, just like a moto jacket would. It also helps bring down a notch a dress or skirt that is loud in color or pattern if the vest is a solid neutral color.
As layering piece for cold weather. Coat-style vests are a big deal this season so if you find yourself doing some online shopping today, you’re going to want to add this to your basket. Coat vests are a great way to keep warm and make the best layering piece as you can wear other jackets underneath like leather, structured, denim—you name it.
