Adidas Takes Another Step Closer To Sustainable Fashion

Adidas has been in the news quite a bit recently for its newly released collections. From collaborations with celebrities like Donald Glover, Kylie Jenner, and Beyonce, to its most recent announcement that it is releasing a new recyclable, environmentally friendly shoe it seems that we will be hearing about Adidas in the news for quite awhile.

Adidas named this new collection “The Loop,” and it boasts complete sustainability after being designed by Futurecraft. The new kicks are made completely with one material (thermoplastic polyurethane) and contain no glue. These materials make them even easier to recycle, and once the athlete is done wearing them, all they need to do is return them to Adidas for easy-access recycling.

This collection is set to be released initially in a small batch of 200 items in targeted areas, and the full collection will eventually be released in the year 2021. This shoe style is aimed to allow circulation within the brand to seriously limit waste, which is absolutely necessary since over 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic has been created since the early 1950s.
