Zendaya featured on the Essence 50th Anniversary cover
Essence is a longstanding publication dedicated to celebrating empowering black women and 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the women’s magazine. The young triple threat Zendaya is known for her acting, singing, and dancing but is officially a fashion icon after gracing the cover of Essence anniversary edition.
This was an absolute honor to grace this very special 50th anniversary cover of @essence while paying tribute to the iconic Donyale Luna, often credited as the first black supermodel. Shot by AB+DM Studio, Interview by @SylviaObell pic.twitter.com/Iuo2zh32G5

Zendaya has worked in Hollywood since she was 14 and made history this year as the youngest recipient of an Emmy award for outstanding lead actress in a drama at the age of 24. The young actress from Oakland lived up to her potential and has proved to be unstoppable with her range in acting roles.
Essence decided Zendaya would be the perfect cover model for the 50th edition as one representation of “Black Hollywood’s wildest dreams.” The Oakland native celebrates the 50th anniversary of Essence and reveals some of her exciting upcoming projects.
Though the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic put the entertainment community on hold, that didn’t stop the young star. Zendaya has worked the last couple of months filming for the hit HBO show “Euphoria” for the heavily-anticipated second season with two episodes being released in December.
