Sports Illustrated Becoming More Diverse On Runway

Fashion inclusivity is the latest trend that everyone seems to be getting behind. And for good reason. Inclusivity in fashion means that there is something for everyone. That someone no longer has to feel left out or try to conform to someone else’s idea of fashion and the “ideal” body type. Sports Illustrated Magazine is one of the recent fashion giants to get behind the idea of fashion inclusivity.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit is one of the most anticipated and talked about magazine issues that people will wait for all year long. First released in 1964, the magazine issue features models, showing off some of the latest in swimwear fashion. The magazine has always been progressive, being one of the first to show women of different colors, ages, shapes, and sizes.

Recently, Sports Illustrated took this a step further during Miami Swim Week displaying some of the most diverse models ever to walk the runway. The fashion show featured plus-sized models, a model with a skin disease, older models, and even a model in a wheelchair. The event showed that beauty is all about confidence and that everyone should love who they are.
