Throughout this year we have seen quite some strange trends and fads. Sometimes the runway will give us unusual and most of the time unnecessary looks that only the bravest of fashion junkies are willing to try. They are bold and risky… but are you brave enough to try out one of these bizarre creations? Here are some of the oddest things we have seen this year so far.
Headgear is something that has gone off the rails this past year. We have seen so many different hat dresses and one in particular from Jacquemus has sold for over $3000! Not only that but the dress sold out shortly after being put on the market.
Another type of dress you thought maybe was just for your bathroom has become a huge trend. Toilet paper is being used to make wedding dresses! Quilted Northern and a wedding dress company partnered up to host a contest for the best toilet paper wedding dress.
Though it’s unusual , some of the dresses didn’t even look like they were made from toilet paper, it’s kind of amazing. The only thing contestants could use was toilet paper glue and tape! Instead of flushing away thousands on my wedding dress why not give this a try?
Something else that started trending this past year was a watermelon dress. Though the person is not actually wearing the dress, it is a perfect illusion and has already gotten over 6000 hashtags on Instagram! It is popping up everywhere . Even men as well as pets are trying it out …!
If you thought those were odd, Balenciaga created a skirt made of car mats. Other absurd trends have emerged including thong jeans, double jeans, and wearing dry cleaner covers.
Forever 21 is collaborating with Taco Bell super fans, offering the iconic Taco Bell graphics for the clothing line that will be available October 11. The male romper or the Romphim came back into style in full-force with dude squads sporting the look.
Last but not least, clear jeans have also made a statement in the fashion world. If you’re brave enough to try out any of these very odd trends, props to you!
