Big Brands Are Looking To Amazon For Distribution
It’s no surprise that online retail giant Amazon is growing even more this year, adding in new brands, items for purchase, and additional services (like its recently announced clothing subscription box, Prime Wardrobe). It has quickly become the king of shopping destinations, providing everything from kids’ needs to food to movies.
And in addition to the goods and services it is providing on its own, as well as its popularity among shoppers, it’s no surprise that other well-known brands want to be a part of Amazon’s exponential growth.
That’s why brands like Chicos, Nike, and Lands’ End are embracing Amazon, taking advantage of its ease of use and the fact that it has become a one-stop shop for consumers. By joining Amazon, these old consumer-favorite brands are adjusting their sales models to fit the ever-changing landscape that is online shopping.
But joining Amazon to distribute clothing and accessories directly to shoppers has its risks, according to retailers and industry analysts. One of the bigger risks is Amazon using real-time data from customers to further build its own private-label company.
