Our nation’s capital got its annual dose of glam as Hollywood’s hottest celebrities headed to Washington D.C for the 2013 White House Correspondents Dinner. Fashion and politics mixed and mingled as Hollywood A-listers and famous politicos converged at the Washington Hilton. Most of the celebrity event attendees kept their ensembles modestly cut, scandal free, and malfunction-proof by steering away from thigh slits, barely there sheer fabrics and plunging necklines, which we must admit was a refreshing change from the usual red carpet looks. The celebrities hit the red carpet looking chic, elegant and perfectly polished for the big event, and below you’ll find out who won the honor of being named one of the best dressed celebs of the evening.
Katy Perry
The pop star darling looked every bit the glowing goddess in an olive green Giambattista Valli Couture gown with a shimmering gold underlay. The strapless empire waist gown was a modest and elegant dress that enhanced her killer figure in the classiest ways possible. Katy decided to keep the hair and accessories simple, opting only for a statement ring, and styling her hair into free flowing retro glam waves.
Kerry Washington
Kerry Washington, who is rapidly becoming the best dressed star of the season, stepped out in a stunning, unique and fresh Wes Gordon gown. The black and white dress featured a funky geometric printed skirt which included a train-like attachment on the back. Ms. Washington epitomized elegance and class, pairing her dress with a simple black box clutch and a banged half-up half-down hairstyle that could give First Lady Michelle Obama’s bangs a little competition.
Sofia Vergara
The modern family star rocked a curve hugging teal Herve Leroux number which featured a small key hole cut out detail under the bust. Sofia opted for a bright and bold armload of fuchsia Lorraine Schwartz stacked bracelets and matching earrings to accent her simply cut gown. To finish off her look Sofia decided on loose, slightly undone bouncy curls with side swept bangs, which gave her overall style an effortless appeal.
Jessica Paré
Mad Men star Jessica Paré oozed classic beauty in a stunning navy and black Antonio Berardi gown. The one shouldered dress made the most of the stars beautiful milky skin tone and while she kept her accessories simple for the most part, we love that she opted to add in a bright pop of color with her electric blue earrings.
