Since 1990, the Billboard Music Awards have been an annual award show for entertainers, recognizing the top players in the industry. Most award shows determine winners through votes by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences organization, but the Billboard Music Awards are different.
Winners for this show are recognized by a combination of areas: album and digital song sales, streaming and radio airplay, touring, and social engagement. And while the awards are a huge part of the ceremony–they are the reason for the show, after all–another exciting aspect of these music awards is the fashion.
