All the top looks straight from the red carpet

The Governor’s Awards may not be on your list of awards shows to watch this season, but it should be on your list of looks to review. The high-profile event hosted by The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences honors recipients over summer and then publically recognizes them at a gala-style event in October or November.

The awards are categorized as Oscars, and thus creates a very prestigious atmosphere. Nominations are not just confined to the 2019 year either; any inspiring piece can be recognized. For example, 91-year-old Lina Wertmuller was nominated for best director (the first female to do so) for her 1975 film “Seven Beauties”.

During her acceptance speech, she called for a rename of the classic trophy from “Oscar” to “Anna” pushing for diversity in Hollywood’s recognition and award system.

Ever a fan of more Anna’s, here are the best looks from the red carpet event. They each deserve an Anna for these bold, classic, jaw-dropping looks.
