When the winter time arrives soft, glowing skin seems like it is impossible. The scorching cold weather along with cold, dry winds really take a toll not only on your face but your body as well. Combine that with lack of sleep and low water consumption and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.

The best thing you can so along with proper moisturizer is exfoliating your skin. It gets rid of all the dead skin cells that accumulate and make for dull looking skin. Skin exfoliation should be performed 1-2 times a week followed by a good moisturizer. It should be done in light circular motions to guarantee the removal of all dead skin cells without hurting your skin.

There are tons of products out in the market that work great but you need to keep a few things in mind:

1. For face exfoliation, use beads that are small and perfectly round. Using beads like the ones found in apricot scrubs are rough and damage the skin. We recommend The Body Shop’s “Vitamin C Microdermabrasion”. The beads are small and don’t hurt your skin will thoroughly getting rid of dead skin cells.

2. When it comes to body scrubs, using a sugar based exfoliator is the best because the body skin tends to be tougher and sugar dissolves with water as you scrub away. We like Fresh’s “Brown Sugar Body Polish”.

3. Moisturize. After you’ve stripped your skin you must moisturize to protect it and keep it glowing.
