The man behind Louboutins is not happy with some of his customers
Christian Louboutin is widely known for his red-soled shoes, something called out as a symbol of status by everyone from Cardi B to Kim Kardashian to Anne Hathaway. And whether Louboutin himself likes it or not, anyone who is anyone wants to get their hands on a pair of his stilettos. And sometimes, people he would rather not have them on are wearing them, loud and proud.
At a recent press event, Louboutin opened up to talk about his perception of the way some people are wearing his shoes. He stated that he was “vaguely horrified” by how some people wear his shoes. And while he may sometimes not approve of their look, he did mention that he’s always happy to see people wearing his designs.
When summarizing how he felt about the scenario, he stated a French expression, “On propose, to dispose.” This basically means that “he as the designer offers his creations, and it’s up to you what you do with them.”
Furthermore, he mentioned that he’s often “happily surprised” by how some people wear and style his designs.
